When your boiler won’t give heat or hot water
Losing both heating and hot water usually means the boiler has stopped firing or a key component has failed. In most homes it points to a faulty diverter valve, thermostat, circulation pump or a low-pressure lockout rather than a whole new boiler.
Before we attend, it’s worth checking the boiler pressure gauge, the thermostat and that the gas and power are on, but if there’s a smell of gas, turn the supply off and call the National Gas Emergency line first.
